Invent Cool Stuff from Junk!

Kids are challenged with an open ended project. (Encourages creativity)  We brainstorm zillions of ideas and choose which to go forward with.  Kids are provided with a plethora of building materials within the classroom.  (Encourages experimentation)  Each material has a certain point value.  Kids must budget their projects to use only the amount of points they are given for each project.  (Teaches resourcefulness) Kids can take their product creations home in the end.  If Kids collaborate together, they are able to combine their project ‘budgets’ and create an even grander project. (Teaches the art of collaboration).  Supportive teacher to encourage questions and encourage persistence.  Kids present their creations at the end to their classmates.
